Channing Dungey (born March 14, 1969) is an American television producer, best known as the first African-American president of the ABC Entertainment Group. She gained attention for her decision to cancel the revival of the television series Roseanne on May 29, 2018.
Dungey graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television in 1991 before starting her career at Davis Entertainment. She then joined Warner Bros. as a production executive and participated in developing films such as Heat, The Matrix, and The Devil’s Advocate. In 2004, she transitioned to ABC and eventually became its president in February 2016.
Notably, she oversaw the development of numerous popular ABC Studio shows including Scandal, Criminal Minds,How to Get Away with Murder,and Nashville.
