Chandra Currelley-Young, born on August 30, 1961 in Jacksonville, Florida, is a TV actress and singer known for her work on stage and screen. She has frequently collaborated with Tyler Perry and had a breakout role in the hit production Dinah Was portraying singer Dinah Washington. Currelley-Young was also a series regular in the show For Better or Worse as Miss V.
Prior to gaining fame, she was a member of the SOS Band from the late 1980s until 1992. Eventually, she left the band to focus on theater. Additionally, she was chosen by Debbie Allen to be a featured soloist in her production Soul Possessed.
Currelley-Young is married to Larry Young and they have one child together named Agape Young.
