About Carolyn Leigh
Carolyn Leigh (August 21, 1926 – November 19, 1983) was an American songwriter born in New York. She is best known for her work as a lyricist, notably for the songs “Witchcraft” and “The Best Is Yet to Come,” both written in collaboration with composer Cy Coleman.
Prior to her successful songwriting career, Carolyn Leigh graduated from Queens College and New York University. In 1985, she was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She was married to David Cunningham Jr., but they later divorced.
