About Candia McWilliam
Candia McWilliam is a Scottish author born on July 1, 1955. She is best known for her novels A Little Stranger (1989), Debatable Land (1994), and Wait Till I Tell You (1997). In her memoir What to Look for in Winter, published in 2010, she shares about her progressive loss of eyesight.
McWilliam attended Girton College, Cambridge where she earned first-class honors before publishing her first novel, A Case of Knives, in 1988. Her novel Debatable Land won the Guardian Fiction Prize.
She had two children with her first husband Quentin Wallop and a third child with her second husband Fram Dinshaw.
