About Britt Allcroft
Britt Allcroft is a renowned TV producer who was born on December 14, 1943, in England. She is best known for her work as the creator, writer and producer of the popular children’s series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends.
Before gaining fame in her career, Allcroft legally changed her name from Hillary to Britt at the age of 16 and started working in broadcasting. Throughout her career, she has worked on several successful projects including Thomas and the Magic Railroad which she wrote and directed into a film adaptation of her beloved TV show in 2000.
Allcroft was married to television producer Angus Wright from 1973 to 1997. She has two children and currently resides in Santa Monica.
