About Barbara Parkins
Barbara Parkins (born May 22, 1942) is a Canadian actress best known for her role as Betty Anderson on the popular 1960s show Peyton Place, earning her an Emmy Award nomination. She also portrayed Anne Welles in Valley of the Dolls.
Parkins moved to Hollywood at 16 and studied acting and dance at the Falcon School. Her career began with a job as a backup singer and dancer in nightclub acts alongside notable figures such as actor George Burns.
Aside from acting, Parkins has found success as a photographer. In the 1970s, she married and had daughter Christina in 1986.
