About Barbara Palacios
Barbara Palacios is a Spanish-born beauty queen who was crowned Miss Venezuela in 1986, before going on to win the prestigious Miss Universe title. She later pursued a career as a television host and advertising executive. In addition to her work in pageantry, she also founded the American-based women’s jewelry and cosmetics company called the Barbara Palacios Corporation.
In her personal life, Barbara married Victor Manrique in 1988 and together they have two children. Her mother, Barbara Teyde, was a prominent Venezuelan actress.
Prior to her pageant success, she competed against several notable contestants in the Miss Universe competition including Christy Fichtner (United States), Maria Monica Urbina (Colombia), and Brygida Bziukiewicz (Poland).
