About Aurora De Albornoz
Aurora De Albornoz (January 22, 1926 –) is a Spanish poet, literary scholar, and professor renowned for her work during the Spanish Civil War era. Born in Asturias, Spain, she moved to San Juan at eighteen and studied under Juan Ramon Jimenez at the University of Puerto Rico. She married Jorge Enjuto Bernal in 1950 and lived in various countries before their divorce in 1967.
De Albornoz’s notable works include Aventura, Pequenos poemas en prosa, and La prehistoria de Antonio Machado. Her family has a strong intellectual background; her uncle won the Nobel Prize in medicine in 1959 for his work on RNA; her great uncle was prominent in Spanish politics; while both her father and grandfather were poets
