About Assi Azar
Assi Azar, born on June 10, 1979 in Holon, Israel, is an Israeli television personality best known for his role as the host of Big Brother Israel and The Next Star. He previously hosted the satire talk show Talk to My Agent (formerly Catch-24) and served as an on-field reporter for the entertainment show Good Evening with Guy Pines.
Azar’s breakthrough came when he won a viewers’ contest for the youth show Exit in 2004. In 2009, he was recognized by OUT as one of the 100 Most Influential Gays and Lesbians in the world following his documentary “Mom, Dad, I have something to tell you.”
Born to half Bukharian and half Yemeni parents in Holon, Israel, Azar served in the Israeli Defense Forces until 2001.
