About Arlene Phillips
Arlene Phillips is an English director, born on May 22, 1943. She is well-known for her work as an Olivier Award-winning choreographer, dancer, and theatre director for numerous London West End and Broadway musicals. Notably, she was the oldest contestant on the twenty-first series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.
Phillips began her dance journey at the age of three and later went on to choreograph, dance, and teach in London during her mid-teens. Her involvement with various productions earned her widespread recognition.
From 2004 to 2009, she served as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing – a BBC1 reality competition show. Additionally in 2010, she started writing a series of children’s books titled Alana Dancing Star.
Arlene Phillips hails from Prestwich, Lancashire, England where she was raised alongside two siblings. Sadly they lost their mother to leukemia in the early 1960s.
