About Anne Sullivan
Anne Sullivan was a renowned teacher born on April 14, 1866, in Massachusetts. She is best known for her breakthrough work with Helen Keller, teaching her how to read and write.
Prior to gaining fame, she studied at the Perkins School for the Blind. Notably, Anne lost most of her eyesight at age twenty which allowed her to relate closely to Helen Keller.
In May of 1905, she married John Albert Macy, an instructor at Harvard; however, the couple separated in 1914.
