Anne Keothavong, born on September 16, 1983 in England, is a retired Laotian-British tennis player known for her successful career in the sport. She has won a total of 20 International Tennis Federation singles titles and 8 doubles titles throughout her tenure as a professional athlete before announcing her retirement from the game in July 2013. Following her retirement, Keothavong transitioned into a broadcasting role with BT Sport where she covers the WTA Tour.
Prior to gaining recognition as a professional tennis player, Keothavong began playing the sport at Hackney Downs and Highbury Fields at just seven years old. Her early talent led to her Junior ITF tour debut at age 12.
Notable for being the youngest player ever to represent Great Britain at the Fed Cup when she did so at age 17 in April 2001, Keothavong’s achievements also extend beyond her athletic endeavors – having married Andrew Bretherton in February 2015 and being part of a family that includes siblings named James, Mark and Lena.
