Anita Roberts (born April 3, 1942) is an American biologist known for her groundbreaking work on the protein TGF-β (transforming growth factor beta), which has significant implications in wound healing, fracture repair, and cancer development. Originally from Pennsylvania, Roberts began her career at Harvard Medical School before joining the National Cancer Institute in 1976.
Aside from her contributions to the field of biology, she is also recognized for sharing intimate details about her personal life through blogging. In 2004, she was diagnosed with stage four gastric cancer and chronicled her experience with the disease through a blog that garnered attention within the scientific community.
