About Alisa Valdes
Alisa Valdes is an American novelist born on February 28, 1969 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is best known as the author of the Dirty Girls Social Club and has also written Girls Night In and Haters. Valdes began her career as a journalist for the Boston Globe in 1994.
Prior to her writing career, she studied jazz saxophone at Berklee College of Music and later earned a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
Valdes was recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in America. She was married to Patrick Jason Rodriguez from 1998 until 2005 and has a son named Alexander.
