Andrea Petkovic is a German female tennis player born on September 9, 1987 in Yugoslavia. She has had a successful career, winning multiple WTA ITF single and ITF doubles championships. In her native Germany, she was the national champion in 2007 and 2009.
Before gaining fame as a professional tennis player, she had already secured four ITF titles by the time she finished school. However, in 2012, Petkovic faced numerous injuries – suffering from back, ankle and knee issues – which led to her being sidelined for six months and dropped her world ranking out of the top 100.
Petkovic’s family has played a significant role in her life; her father Zoran is a former professional tennis player who grew up in Serbia while her mother Amira was born and raised in Bosnia.
