Amy Seimetz is a movie actress born on November 25, 1981, in Florida. She is known for her work in independent films and gained critical acclaim for her role in the film Upstream Color, which earned her a third Gotham Independent Film Award nomination. Prior to this, she received nominations for Sun Don’t Shine and Tiny Furniture.
In 2019, Seimetz starred in the second film adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. She has also garnered acting awards on the film festival circuit for her performances in The Myth of the American Sleepover and A Horrible Way To Die.
Before rising to fame, Seimetz worked various odd jobs such as being a nanny, waitress, and seamstress while learning about filmmaking. Her career began with producing and directing short and indie films before gaining recognition by working on projects like Barry Jenkins’ Medicine For Melancholy. Notably she was an actress executive producer writer and director on Starz television series The Girlfriend Experience.
