Amy Aquino (born March 20, 1957) is an American TV actress best known for her roles in various popular television series. She was born in New Jersey and is recognized for her Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated role as Dr. Joanna Diamond in the CBS series Picket Fences as well as her performance as Dr. Janet Coburn in the long-running medical drama ER.
Prior to pursuing a career in acting, Aquino earned a degree in biology from Harvard University before enrolling at Yale School of Drama to obtain a Master of Fine Arts. In addition to her notable roles on Picket Fences and ER, she also appeared as Judge Greta Anastassio in Judging Amy and Peggy Ardolino in Everybody Loves Raymond.
She played the character of Dr. Toni Pavone on The WB’s Felicity from 2000 until 2002 and had previously portrayed Phyllis Berger Silver on CBS’ Brooklyn Bridge during the early ’90s.
Born and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey, Aquino married Drew McCoy in 1995; she is the daughter of Adele Mesiti and Salvatore Aquino.
