About Ameliaranne Ekenasio
Ameliaranne Ekenasio is a netball player known for representing both Australia and New Zealand. She was born on January 11, 1991, in Bundaberg, Australia.
Ekenasio’s netball career began when she started playing at the age of 13. She played for Wide Bay Thundercats in the Queensland state netball league, where her mother served as manager.
In 2010 and 2011, Ekenasio represented Australia at the under-19 and under-21 levels. In 2014, she began representing New Zealand and went on to captain the team during their victorious Constellation Cup campaign in 2021.
Notable achievements include representing New Zealand at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and being part of the championship-winning New Zealand team at the 2019 Netball World Cup. In addition to her international success, she joined Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in the ANZ Premiership in 2022.
Off the court, Elenasio is a Maori Australian who married Damien Ekanasio in 2016. Together they have a son named Ocean and a daughter named Luna. Sadly, she lost her mother in December of that same year but has found support from her older sister Haldaana and younger brother Jordan.
