About Amaarae
Amaarae is a songwriter born on July 4, 1994, in New York City, New York. She gained recognition after releasing the EP Passionfruit Summers in November 2017 and her debut album, The Angel You Don’t Know, in November 2020.
One of her collaborations with artists Kali Uchis and Moliy, titled “Sad Girls Love Money (remix),” garnered over 4 million views on YouTube within just one month of its release. In 2022, she released multiple songs inspired by the Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Before rising to prominence as a musician, Amaarae wrote her first song at the age of 13 when she reimagined Usher’s hit “Same Girl.” Known for her versatility as an artist, she has made significant contributions as a singer, songwriter, producer and sound engineer. Her talent was acknowledged by prominent platforms like Apple Music and Vogue within just one year of producing and releasing music.
