About Amaal Said
Amaal Said is a photographer known for her work with the Burn After Reading poetry collective and as a former member of the Barbican Young Poets program. Born on November 4, 1995, in Denmark, Amaal has garnered attention for her photography and won the Wasafiri New Writing Prize for poetry in 2015.
Before gaining recognition as a photographer, she developed an interest in YouTube makeup tutorials during her upbringing. Notably, Amaal focuses on photographing women of color to expand representation in her portfolio. Her dedicated approach has earned her over 20,000 followers on Instagram.
