About Allie X
Allie X (born July 31, 1985) is a Canadian pop singer known for her synthpop music. She gained recognition with her single “Catch,” which reached the #55 spot on the Canadian Billboard Hot 100. In April of 2015, she released an EP titled CollXtion I.
Before pursuing her career in music, Allie X studied classical piano and voice at the Interlochen Arts Academy and graduated from Sheridan College’s Musical Theater Performance program. She initially performed indie, melodramatic pop under the stage name Allie Hughes in 2006.
Notably, Allie X appeared on the Canadian show How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? in 2008 but was eliminated after two episodes. Additionally, she has ventured into acting and has been seen in shows such as Instant Star, Triple Sensation, The Boys in the Photograph, and Being Erica.
Allie X was born Alexandra Ashley Hughes in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
