About Alice Phoebe Lou
Alice Phoebe Lou is a South African singer and songwriter known for her solo work as well as being a member of the group Paper Castles. She was born on July 19, 1993, in Cape Town, South Africa.
She started with piano lessons but quickly taught herself guitar instead. She later moved to Berlin after a gap year from high school and began singing and performing. Her debut EP Momentum was released in April of 2014.
Alice has toured throughout Europe, South Africa, and the United States, including playing three sold-out shows at the Berlin Planetarium. Some of her hit singles include “skin Crawl” and “Galaxies.”
In addition to her music career, she has also ventured into film with her original song “She,” which was featured in the film Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story and included on the Oscars shortlist for Best Original Song.
She comes from a family background rooted in creativity – both her parents were documentary filmmakers. Alice was born and raised in Kommetjie, South Africa but later settled in Berlin.
