About Alexandra Lange
Alexandra Lange is an American non-fiction author and architecture critic, born on January 7, 1973. She has written for publications such as Curbed, New York Magazine, the New Yorker, and the New York Times. In addition to her writing career, she has lectured on architecture at various universities.
Before gaining recognition in her field, Lange was a 2014 Loeb Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and has been a featured writer at Design Observer. She also served as an Opinion columnist at Dezeen while teaching design criticism at the School of Visual Arts and New York University.
Lange’s personal life intersects with her professional pursuits; she became a parent in 2007 and drew inspiration from this experience to write her book “The Design of Childhood: How the Material World Shapes Independent Kids,” which was published in 2018.
