Alexandra Billings, born on March 28, 1962 in Inglewood, California, is a TV actress known for her groundbreaking portrayal of transgender characters. She made history as the second openly transgender woman to play a trans role on TV in the film “Romy and Michele: In The Beginning.” Her most notable recurring role was as Davina in the acclaimed Amazon series “Transparent,” and she also appeared as Jennifer Warner in Netflix’s popular show “Never Have I Ever.”
Billings began her involvement with theater at a young age and used the stage name Shante when performing at a renowned lounge in Chicago during the early 1980s. Apart from acting, she has won several beauty contests holding titles such as Miss Wisconsin, Miss New York, Miss Chicago, Miss Illinois, and Miss Florida. Additionally, she is a professional singer.
