About Alaina Coates
Alaina Coates is an American basketball player who gained recognition as a top athlete for the University of South Carolina from 2013 to 2017. She made her debut in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky in 2018, and later joined the Las Vegas Aces in 2023, helping them win that year’s WNBA Finals.
Prior to her professional career, Coates attended Dutch Fork High School and was honored as the Gatorade South Carolina Player of the Year in 2013. She also founded a faith-based non-profit organization called the Alaina Coates FAAM Foundation, which promotes literacy and a love of reading.
