Sayani Gupta, born on October 9, 1985 in Kolkata, India, is an Indian actress known for her work primarily in Hindi films. She gained recognition for her role in the 2016 film Margarita with a Straw, where she portrayed a blind Pakistani activist. Before gaining fame in the film industry, Gupta graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India. An interesting trivia about her is that when she auditioned for Margarita with a Straw, she was initially committed to an Indian travel show and would not be available for four months. Upon returning from shooting, the role was still open and Gupta eventually took it. Gupta hails from West Bengal, India.
