Romy Monteiro, born on November 13, 1992 in Utrecht, Netherlands, is a Dutch pop singer and songwriter. She gained widespread recognition after participating in Holland’s version of The Voice. In 2015, she landed the lead role in the Dutch musical production of The Bodyguard.Prior to her music career taking off, Monteiro pursued studies in marketing and communication. In 2016, she received the Musical Award for Upcoming Talent for her portrayal of Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard.She comes from a family with ties to the entertainment industry; her mother is Antje Monteiro, a well-known Dutch actress.
