Nell Shipman, born on October 25, 1892 in Victoria, Canada, was a renowned screenwriter known for her work on films such as The Ball of Yarn (1910), Outwitted by Billy (1913), One Hundred Years of Mormonism (1913), God’s Country and the Woman (1915), and The Pine’s Revenge (1915).

Prior to her successful career as a screenwriter, Shipman initially pursued acting and worked as a production assistant on various stage plays and productions.
