Melanie Shatner, born on August 1, 1964, in California, is best known as the daughter of Star Trek icon William Shatner. She followed in her father’s footsteps and pursued a career in acting, landing roles in the Subspecies horror videos and making appearances on TV shows like Sisters and Madison.

At the age of two, she made an uncredited appearance on her father’s show Star Trek. Additionally, she acted alongside Roddy McDowall in the 1995 science fiction film The Alien Within.

Melanie was born to Gloria Rand and William Shatner. She has two sisters named Leslie and Lisabeth. Her marriage to actor Joel Gretsch resulted in children named Willow and Kaya.
