Abigail Cruttenden, born on March 23, 1968 in England, is a TV actress known for her roles in various television series and films. She gained recognition for playing Jane on the ITV series Sharpe and later portrayed Anna on the BBC One sitcom Not Going Out. Additionally, she appeared in films such as The Theory of Everything and Charlotte Gray.
Prior to her fame, Cruttenden starred in the mid-1980s English television series Mog. Coming from a family of artists and entertainers, with her mother Julia Cruttenden being a popular stage makeup artist; grandmother Cynthia Coatts being an acting and dance teacher; and brother Hal Cruttenden having a successful career as a comedian.
In terms of personal life, Abigail was previously married to actor Sean Bean from 1997 until 2000 with whom she has a daughter named Evie. Later she had son Merle with second husband Jonathan Frase.
