Mary II of England, born on April 30, 1662 in England, was the Queen of England who shared power with her husband William III from 1689 to 1694. Both she and her husband were Protestants who ascended to the throne after the Glorious Revolution deposed her father James II and VII.

Prior to becoming queen, Mary II was well-liked for both her personality and because of her marriage to a Protestant. She also served as an advisor to William III during his time in England and ruled in his absence when he was away at war.

In terms of family life, Mary II experienced miscarriage early in her marriage and had no children thereafter. It is noteworthy that both of Mary’s parents had converted to Roman Catholicism.
