Mary Miller is an American art historian born on December 30, 1952, in New York. She is known for her significant research contributions to Mayan and Mesoamerican artwork. Miller holds the prestigious Sterling professorship at Yale University and has also served as Dean of Yale College.

Prior to her illustrious career, Mary Miller obtained a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and went on to earn her doctorate from Yale. Her field research in Mexico led to the publication of a seminal work titled “The Murals of Bonampak” in 1986.

Born and raised in New York state, Mary Miller has established herself as an influential figure within the field of art history through her scholarly achievements.
