About Spela Pretnar
Spela Pretnar (born March 5, 1973) is a Slovenian former alpine skier. She had a successful career in the Alpine Skiing World Cup, winning six races and earning 13 podium finishes. In 2000, she was honored as the Slovenian sportswoman of the year. Pretnar represented Slovenia at the Winter Olympics in 2002.
Pretnar made her World Cup debut in January of 1992 and achieved notable success throughout her skiing career. She won the small crystal globe in slalom during the 1999-2000 season and later transitioned to working as a sports reporter for POP TV until 2009. Additionally, she entered politics by running on the Positive Slovenia ticket during the parliamentary elections in 2011.
In terms of personal life, it was revealed that Pretnar was expecting a child in 2010, marking an important milestone for her growing family. Currently, she works within SZS’s public relations department since 2016.
