La India Feet
La India, born on March 9, 1969, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, is a celebrated World Music Singer. Known as ‘La Princesa de la Salsa,’ she gained fame for her chart-topping salsa music albums Dicen Que Soy, Sobre el Fuego, Soy Diferente, and Unica. La India has received Latin Grammy and American Grammy nominations for her work.
Prior to her musical success, she joined the Latin music group TKA at the age of fourteen. Her collaboration with fellow Puerto Rican salsa musician Kevin Ceballo on “Sobre el Fuego” in 1997 earned her a Grammy nomination in the “Latin Tropical Performance” category.
Born in Rio Piedras and raised primarily in New York City’s South Bronx borough by her parents and grandmother during her childhood years.
