Maite Proenca, born on January 28, 1958 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is a renowned TV actress known for her work on popular Brazilian series such as Shades of Sin, Tres Irmas and Passione. She received the Candango for Best Actress at the Brasilia Film Festival for her role in the 1995 film 16060. Prior to her acting career, she attended an American school during her childhood and later pursued Journalism at the University of Sao Paulo. A notable fact about her life is that she was bedridden for nearly a year after being involved in a serious car accident in 1979.
