Katherine Waterston, born on March 3, 1980 in England, is a British actress known for her acclaimed roles in films such as Michael Clayton (2007) and Inherent Vice (2014). She has also made a name for herself in stage productions like The Cherry Orchard. Waterston gained further recognition for her role in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016).

Prior to her rise to fame, she was born in Westminster, London and holds a B.F.A. in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

Notably, she received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Satellite Awards for her portrayal of Shasta in Inherent Vice. Her family background includes being the daughter of Academy Award-nominated actor Sam Waterston and having siblings James, Graham, and Elisabeth.
