Karen Malina White was born on July 7, 1965, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is best known for portraying Charmaine Brown on “The Cosby Show” for two seasons. In 1989, she received a nomination for a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress for her role in the film “Lean On Me”. Before her acting career took off, she graduated cum laude from Howard University.White also has experience as a voice actress and voiced Dijonay Jones on the animated series “The Proud Family”. Her personal life includes a seven-year relationship with “Cosby Show” actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner.
