Joyce DeWitt is a TV actress born on April 23, 1949 in Wheeling, West Virginia. She is best known for her role as roommate Janet Wood on the television series Three’s Company. Her other credits include Call of the Wild 3D and Airplane II: The Sequel.

DeWitt began appearing on stage at the age of 13 and worked as a secretary before making her acting debut in 1975. She earned her master’s degree from UCLA.

Her parents are Paul and Norma Dewitt, and she has three siblings. DeWitt was married to Ray Buktenica from 1979-1986.
