Jessica Lea Mayfield, born on August 27, 1989 in Kent, Ohio, is a folk singer who gained prominence with the support of The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. Her debut album With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, produced by Auerbach in 2008, garnered her a dedicated fan base due to her melancholic tone and poignant lyrics.

Prior to her rise to fame, Mayfield recorded her first album at the age of fifteen in her brother’s bedroom. After printing 100 copies, one ended up in the hands of Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach. Subsequently introduced to him, they collaborated on her debut album.

A notable milestone in Mayfield’s career was the release of her 2014 album Make My Head Sing, which showcased a new grunge-inspired sound distinct from The Black Keys’ influence.

Musically inclined from an early age, she started performing with her family bluegrass band at eight and toured around the United States with them. She learned guitar from her brother David at eleven and began crafting original songs.
