Fiona Apple is an American rock singer born on September 13, 1977, in New York City, New York. She gained recognition as a singer-songwriter and received the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.

Some of her notable songs include “Sleep to Dream” and “Criminal,” both of which garnered critical acclaim.

Prior to achieving fame, she handed her demo to a friend who babysat for music publicist Kathryn Schenker. Her debut album “Tidal” was released in 1996 and achieved Platinum certification three times over.

In addition to her successful career, Apple has also received awards for her other albums such as “Extraordinary Machine.”

Her parents are former singer Diane McAfee and actor Brandon Maggart; she has been romantically involved with various individuals including Jonathan Ames.
