Erna Brodber is a remarkable Jamaican author, born on April 20, 1940. In 1988, she was rightfully awarded the Caribbean and Canadian Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for her novel Myal. Besides being an accomplished writer, Brodber pursued knowledge relentlessly, earning both a B.A. and a Ph.D from the esteemed University College of the West Indies.
