Erin Chase, born on September 27, 1977 in San Antonio, Texas, is a popular food blogger known for her work on the blog $5 Dollar Dinners. Through her platform, she shares various products, recipes and creative meal ideas that can be prepared for less than $5.

In addition to her blogging endeavors, Erin also founded the affordable meal plan called Freez Easy. Prior to gaining popularity as a blogger, Erin worked as a missionary in the Dominican Republic after college. It was during this time that she learned valuable skills related to budget-friendly meal planning and grocery shopping in a third world country.

The inspiration for her blog came about when Erin began utilizing coupons during the summer of 2008. This experience led her to create valuable content centered around budget-friendly cooking and meal preparation.

Erin met her husband while serving as a missionary in the Dominican Republic; they subsequently married just one year later. The couple now has four boys together.
