Elizabeth Strout Feet

Elizabeth Strout, born on January 6, 1956 in Portland, Maine, is an American novelist and Pulitzer Prize winner. She is renowned for her work “Olive Kitteridge,” a collection of short stories published in 2008. Among her other notable works are “Abide with Me” (2006) and “The Burgess Boys” (2013).

Strout graduated with a law degree from Syracuse University before commencing her writing career in New York City, contributing stories to publications like Seventeen and Redbook. She holds an undergraduate degree from Bates College.

Raised by teachers in Maine and New Hampshire, Strout eventually tied the knot with James Tierney, former Attorney General of Maine.
