Jelinek is best known for her novel The Piano Teacher (originally published in German as Die Klavierspielerin), which has garnered significant acclaim. Her other notable works include Lust and Die Kinder der Toten.
She began her writing career by publishing a collection of poems in 1967 before gaining international recognition for her impactful storytelling.
